The Netherlands international midfielder was a regular starter for Ajax before his move to United and was also a part of the team that knocked out Juventus and Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League some years ago. He shared a team with the likes of Hakim Ziyech, de Ligt, and Frenkie de Jong, three of whom have left the club to sign for Chelsea, Juventus, and Barcelona respectively. However, he remains a bench player at Old Trafford and he has reportedly been frustrated by his lack of game time under Solksjær.

After finishing the season at United, he was called up to the Netherlands national team so he could play a part in their Euros 2020 campaign but he had to pull out of the squad through an injury which saw him miss the entire competition. He has, however, recovered from the injury and has been a part of the club’s pre-season training in the past few weeks, and has been working hard so he can be in contention for more games at the club.

It is believed that the player wants to have a great career at Old Trafford and he is willing to fight for his place in the team to achieve that.
