AJAX JOIN THE RACE TO SIGN CHELSEA MIDFIELDER THIS SUMMER

While Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has declared that he would love to remain at the club and fight for a starting spot under manager Thomas Tuchel, he has continued to get offers from several clubs both in England and abroad. The midfielder spent last season on loan at Fulham and even though he was one of their important players, he was not able to help them avoid relegation at the end of the season. Loftus-Cheek has shown in recent times that he can develop into being a top attacking midfielder but he has not had the best of luck with injuries and has spent spells on the sidelines due to one injury or another.

After recently winning the UEFA Champions League title with the Blues, Tuchel is solely focused on winning more titles with the club, and to do that, he would need to have a top player for every position in the team and this is where the problem lies for Loftus-Cheek. Although he is a good player, he is considered to be just decent and not good enough to cement a starting role at Chelsea under Tuchel.

Before leaving Chelsea to spend last season on loan at Fulham, the midfielder had offers from other clubs, including Watford, Everton, Crystal Palace, West Ham United, and Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, he chose to join Fulham instead because he felt he would get the most of game time as compared to other clubs that were interested.

He is now a target for Ajax, as the Dutch Eredivisie champions have expressed their interest in taking the midfielder to the Netherlands. Although Loftus-Cheek has clearly stated that he wants to play for his boyhood club, he could be forced to have a rethink as an opportunity to play for a club like Ajax may not come by another time.
