Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona have completed the signing of Manchester City’s Young defender Eric Garcia ahead of the summer and he will become the club’s first major arrival of the summer transfer window. The Garcia to Barcelona transfer saga has finally come to an end after the player agreed terms with the Spanish giants who also reached an agreement with Premier League side Manchester City for the transfer of the defender.

Garcia is a product of the famous Barcelona’s La Masia youth academy but left Spain as he felt he needed to go out in search of more game time and to also develop as a player. His journey took him to England where he joined the City evolution and after a few years at the Etihad, he has really developed into a better talent than before he left Barca.

He has always made his desire known that he would love to return to the Camp Nou and it seems he has now finally fulfilled his wish by agreeing to seal a return to where he started his career. Barcelona have also expressed their interest severally in the player and tried to snap him up last summer but failed to do so because City were not willing to do business for the defender who they were unwilling to part ways with.

The defender was linked with other clubs across Europe after his excellent progress with the Manchester City youth set up, including the likes of Ajax, Juventus Inter Milan, and even Paris Saint-Germain. But after finally agreeing to his move to Spain, he will be looking to fight for his place in the team for a starting spot.

It is believed that his signing is one for the future as the club are already planning for life after Gerard Pique who is already nearing the tail-end of his career at the club.
