Tottenham Hotspurhavecompleted the signing of defenderDavinsonSanchez from Ajax for a club-record fee of around £42m.
The Colombia international has agreed to a six-year contract with the north London giants subject to a work permit. He becomes Spurs’ second signing of the summer transfer window following the arrival of goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga from Southampton earlier in the week.
“We are delighted to announce that Davinson Sanchez has completed his move to the club subject to receipt of his work permit later this week,” read a statement read on the club’s official website.
Meanwhile, Sanchez was also delighted to link up with the Mauricio Pochettino’s side, and he considers it as a huge step forward in his playing career, he said: “This is a massive opportunity for me because of what Tottenham represent, not just here in England but around the world. It’s a huge step forward in my career and will allow me to continue developing and achieving big things.This is a great chance.”
Sanchez joined Ajax from Atletico Nacional on a five-year deal last summer, and he managed 32 appearances across all competitions for the Eredivisie outfit.
